I have worked as a Producer Director and more recently as Series Director for over 12 years for many of the major UK broadcasters:
BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, Discovery.
From hard hitting emergency service documentaries such as Cops with Cameras, Cop Squad, A&E on the Road, to multiple series of Scottish BAFTA award winning BBC factual series Antique Road Trip, I have comprehensive experience making programmes spanning a multitude of genres.
Having achieved a 1st degree at the industry recognised Ravensbourne Institute of Design and Communication in London, I began my career as a Researcher at ITV Studios casting established entertainment formats like Come Dine With Me, where I quickly learnt the importance of casting exceptional characters.
Having learnt the workings of production from the ground up I quickly gravitated to self-shooting roles, shooting material for broadcast on popular emergency service formats which was an eagerly anticipated chance to stretch my natural photographic eye and technical ability. The quality of my rushes quickly got me noticed amongst the bosses at ITV for my ability to deliver flawlessly covered, story driven content in demanding, fast paced and often confrontational environments.
As a "trusted pair of hands" on location I made a fast rise to the position of Assistant Producer and at the age of 24 became one of the youngest Producer Directors at ITV. My produced and scripted episode of the Irish version of Come Dine With Me reached the record viewing figures for the channel.
I was soon passed opportunities to take lead self-shooting PD roles on observational documentaries and factual entertainment series such as Little England (ITV) where I demonstrated the ability to manage multiple contributors and shoot compelling stories, shot creatively in very fast turn around scenarios.
In recent years I have progressed to making programmes with talent, on presenter led formats and Celebrities. Paul Gascoigne, Richard Wilson, Gok Wan, Peter Andre, Dick Strawbridge amongst others.
My more recent positions have moved away from sole self-shooting roles to directing and managing crew, larger production teams and onscreen talent. Late 2017 saw my first credited senior role of Series Director for the TLC/Discovery network on series 2 of the lifestyle entertainment format Curvy Brides' Boutique taking lead responsibility for identifying key areas of improvement to production value and implementing practical solution on Series 1.
Having built an established career in UK I have now made the move to Australia to broaden my experience in a new television landscape and am now permanently based in Sydney.
